The Waiting Hurt

To say the modern alternative/emo rock band The Waiting Hurt have time on their hands is a bit of an understatement. Hailing from Barstow, CA the members of The Waiting Hurt have chores to do after school, homework every night, after school jobs and not to mention gathering the courage to ask a girl to the high school prom. They sound like your typical high school teenagers, right? Wrong! You can add band practice, recording sessions, shows at The Whisky in LA, shows in Vegas, opening slots for Himsa, Over it, Name taken, Wester to name a few. The Waiting Hurt who draws influences from Glassjaw, Jimmy Eat World, My Romantic Romance & Bright Eyes is comprised of lead singer Johnny Soto (17), guitarists Justin Deverell (16) & Jeff Younger (17), Bassist Jared Jaramillo (17) and drummer Daniel Concho (18). “The funny thing is that we are not old enough to get into the clubs we want to play so it makes it difficult to trade gigs explains lead singer Johnny Sotto. But the band does not seem worried by this tiny obstacle. The band is already drawing 200+ in their hometown of Barstow,CA.
Are you kidding? I’m sorry .. not to be rude .. this totally contradicts the purpose of the tsumai article “old execs”. Another band that sounds like The Used & M.C.R. .. stop .. its old. There is so much great talent out there now, not getting the proper attention Revelation Theory, A New Revolution, ApathetiQ, One Less Reason, 32 Leaves, Burn Season. I don’t know.

The waiting hurt has a sound that makes you wanna sing, drive fast, dance in the rain, and follow your dreams. Everyone of their songs is a personal favorite of mine. My imagination runs wild to the sound of their music. I look forward to their success and know that the future is ready for them. They are just what the music industry is thirsting for.

I guess some of you have too many other things to do than actually LISTEN to TWH huh ? You have to be tone deaf to think they don’t have a seriously promising future ! They have created themselves and finally someone has taken NOTICE ! These boys are incredible, starting out totally on their own in a garage and making every note count ! Get a clue, these boys are REAL!

I have watched this band grow from playing in their garage and now performing to larger and larger audiences. If other bands have not had the “luck” to have been signed, as Real Mad commented, I feel for them. This is a hard business and their time obviously hasn’t come yet. I’ve known bands who where “discovered” overnight after playing together for years. The Waiting Hurt is one of the fortunate ones. For their young years, they have a sound that excites the crowds and keeps them coming for more. This sound was heard by the right people at the right time and the rest is history. It also doesn’t hurt to have a great manager that works to see them succeed. Every time I see them, I’m still amazed how they have grown and still grow. The Waiting Hurt, keep your music alive and follow your dream for as long as it’s there.

The Waiting Hurt is a new fresh sound. And, by the way, they do not sound like every other band out there. Whoever thinks that will need to take a moment and review their music again. The kids these days are being influenced by bad music with negative lyrics, and TWH is not about that. anywho!!!!!!!!!TWH ROCKS!!!!!!

TWH…talented, dedicated musicians with lyrics and music that comes from the heart. They have a message about life and its aspects. I know that Johnny has been an “entertainer” from the day he was born. His philosphy on life is profound and he and the rest of the band display it in their music. Yes, they rock and I know they are going places. I am one of their biggest fans and follow their growth and will follow as they become successful. Good luck guys! Keep it real!

Ok, every now and then a band’ll come out with something different and eye-catching. The waiting hurt have a good fuckin’ sound, but are just another one of those new bands that are being eaten up by youth, encouraging them to tighten their pants and practice backflips in their backyards with instruments. honestly, the dudes up there have a point. They are talented but are just like the rest of the scene world today. originality is a rare thing these days. I do give credit on the skill they do have to be like every other band though. its just like one of those “i can do whatever you can do” things.

Ena obviously has never seen the band live or pictures of them. For one, they do not wear tight girl’s pants or make up or any of that bullshit. They’re just a straight forward rock band, a really good one at that. There’s not bullshit behind them -no gimmick- just good music! If anything the guys in the band look opposite from the scene. I see this band going far and they deserve to they fucking rock!
