The Feds

The Feds

The Feds are one of the few modern bands that can bring the energy and fun of an arena rock show to a stage of any size. They have been a Dallas staple for years, selling out shows regionally. With the new release of their self-titled EP produced by Alex Gerst and Dave Castell (Blue October, Burden Brothers), The Feds are preparing to take their brand of music to a national stage. They have already sold over 1500 through touring, and recently shipped to retail. Picking up impressive college radio support throughout the region including KTXT, KRSC, KABF and many more. After sharing a stage with the likes of Hoobastank, Disturbed, Finch, Velvet Revolver and the entire Warped Tour line up, The Feds have proven they can not only hold their own, but put on a live show that puts most major label acts to shame.

  1. The Feds have an amazing sound, huge stage presence and are prime to break out to an even bigger national level. “Whiskey Sour Kiss” amazingly showcase the powerful vocals of Matt Slider. Perfection.

  2. To call them a local band would be highly underestemating them. There stage show is one if not the best here in the state of Texas. The three songs featured here are just a few of there many fantastic songs. Let them play at a small bar or a stadium the crowd will be in awe of there amazing show that is also shown on the studio recording.

  3. The FEds are a badass band and diserve a lot more credit than they have already recieved. I believe they are the best example of pure texas rock. After going to about 15 of their shows ive figured out they are one of my favorites to see live, and should get signed by a major label!!

SXSW at the rock star stage they packed a crowd in and no one was dissapointed when leaving that night

    Rock On!!

  5. The music produced by The Feds bring is as amazing and mesmerizing as their energy and presence on stage. From poetic ballads like “Calendar Days” & “Seven” to the full on harmonizing of guitars, bass, and drums blasting out tunes topped with amazing vocals to provide audiences with electrifying songs like “Housefire” & “You, Euphoriaâ€? one can’t help but realize and agree The Feds are destined for greatness.

  6. the Feds are true rock and roll, at its very finest. no other band that i have seen or heard has so much raw energy and passion that can be felt by every audience member. simply stated, they define rock. absolutely amazing, from beginning to end. ive followed the Feds for a few years and cant wait to see where they go or what they come up with next, bc they continue to rock harder and harder as the the years go by…

  7. The Feds are brilliant in every capacity. They are an answered prayer to a girl who’s lost all faith in modern music. The Feds aren’t just kicking ass, they’re taking names (and adding them to their mailing list)! I will follow them until the day I die b/c not only are they musically superior, but they are real, genuine people.

  8. To all those who like to rock, check this band out! The Feds have renewed my faith in the ever so loved rock and roll show. They are what a rock and roll show and band is supposed to be. Their music is fun, they are actually talented and original, you can sing along, you can rock out to it and bonus: the guys are easy on the eyes. The Feds are the whole package!

  9. The only word I can think to describe them is UNBELIEVABLE!!! I’m from Louisiana so I don’t get to rock out at all of the Texas shows that they play at, but you better believe any chance that I get I’m there! Every time my friends and I see them, whether here or in Texas, we leave the show saying to each other, “so when’s the next show we can go to?” It’s madness, I know…they’re just that good. :)

  12. The FEDS are by far the best thing to happen to rock music in a long time. They have it all. Energy, power, and charisma. Their lyrics are intelligent and humorous at the same time. When I go to see them I can’t take my eyes of the stage.

  14. The Feds are an amazing band, and although not very well known, are definitely worth listening to. I saw them live a couple of years ago and they have to be one of the best live acts I’ve seen. They know how to work the audience and have a definite presence. A great act all round!

  15. One of the best bands that has ever migrated to/come out of the DFW area. After seeing The Feds live more times than I wish to remember, I feel confident in saying these guys are going to make it HUGE.

  16. There aren’t many bands that “impress” me or that I leave shows and am in awe of. The Feds are definitely one of the rare bands that captivate me. I’ve seen several shows (big and small) and every single time, I walk away from it with a sense of amazement. The energy of the music is raw. Songs like “You, Euphoria”, “Whiskey Sour Kiss” and “Housefire” get me pumped and rocking like no other. The music isn’t cookie-cutter and boring like 98% of the music scene today. I plan my schedule according to when their shows are and I am NEVER disappointed. Not only are their shows AND their music fantastic, but they are incredible people. Each and every one of them is so genuinely appreciative to EVERY person that comes and sees them. I love them to death and I will be a fan for as long as they are around…and even after that :o)

  17. Extremly great songs structured to stick in your head day after day-n-night.Also impressive is there there live show and the way the crowds flock an responds to there seductive guitar driving melodies. This band is going places.I cant help but to wonder that this band very well could be a band that gives us a classic song or two. With that said The FEDS remind us that rock music is truly about rocking ur face off an picking ur self off the floor the next morning parched an thirsty an ready for a another drink an another just to do it all over again the next night!!!!Cheers

  19. There are few bands that I can say I’ve seen more than 20 times. Maybe one or two. There is, however, only one band that I can say ive seen at least 50 times. And yes, that is The Feds. And without question, I was rocked at every single of them. They have this stage presence that exudes confidence, mastery and most of all fun and excitement. They can keep up with any modern rock acts out there on stage. Theyre not particulary genre-bending, but can please the punk-rockers, rock purists and even pop-hipsters. That being an example of the many diverse fans you will see at any given show. They are certainly the most charming and charismatic act that Dallas has to offer.

  20. the feds are one of my favorite bands, they rock on stage and get the crowd going, the music is amazing… and they are just really cool fun guys!! Even though i now live where they usually do not come, i try to make my ways to shows… even the during a freak snow storm!! GREAT BAND!!!

  21. My favorite band from McKinney DARBY invited me to hear the Feds play and since then The Feds continue to blow me away. The energetic and mindblowing delivery of rock has me wonderfully intoxicated because they are everything I love in rock. I watched the Feds for a second time this last friday @ sxsw and they were amazing they put on a great show and they are the only reason I came out to Austin to hear their set.I will follow them wherever they go and where ever the Feds play is sure to be the most kick-ass show!!!

  25. The feds are band whose energy and intensity is next to impossible to match. They are truly talented musicians and songwriters. With strong hooks, crunching guitar riffs, and a rock solid rhythm section to back the huge vocal range of Matt Slider. this band is light years ahead of what little competition is out there! To try and sum them up into a paragraph doesn’t do them justice. Just go watch them play and you’ll see for yourself. The feds are what rock and roll music needs right now, a band that can shed light on what rock music is supposed to be! Any major label would be lucky and blessed to have such an amazing band on board! What are you waiting for? Get out there and see THE FEDS!

  26. There are no words to describe how rockin’ the Feds are!!! They put on the best show in every venue they step into and can steal any audience whether they are first timers or old loyal fans. Along with their music they are the greatest group of guys around! Keep Rockin’!!!

  27. the fact that the feds remain unsigned speaks volumes about the ineptness of major lable talent scouts. if there was one shred of intelligence left in them, they would snatch this band up yesterday. the feds truely are a lion among house cats in the world of rock. check this band out live and you’ll feel the roar!

  29. I have seen The Feds maybe 7/8 times and they NEVER fail to impress! Musically they are the tightest rock outfit in the Fort Worth/Dallas area! And I’m sure beyond, but I can’t comment on that. Stage presence and Live Act…second to none!! The Feds command the stage like a veteran national act. I have taken several friends for their first Feds experience and to a person they have all said “Why isn’t this band on the radio and HUGE yet?” And personally, I have met few bands, local or otherwise that seem so genuine and appreciative of their fans the way The Feds are. I have been greeted in venues where they are playing by the guys in the band before I approach them nearly every time! And once, after seeing two shows about a month apart, they even feigned recognition! How could they have?!! I love spending my hard earned money on worthy causes and The Feds are just that. I wish nothing but the best for them, even at the risk that will take them out of my backyard and lessen their accessability…oh well. I can alway say “I knew them when…” My Feds! My Texas!!

I was very pleased to hear a extreme solid rock band! But dont just hear them, go see them, their crazy and full of energy. When I heard their music play, I knew this band was going to go places. I have gone to a bunch of Feds show since. I’m proud to have My Texas represented by The Feds!

  36. These guys rock balls. There sound is big and well-polished, but with the artificial lustre and pretense of most pop music today. The heavy, melodic sounds of THE FEDS perfectly soundtrack a roadtrip, a makeout session, or even a drunken punchup! Keep rockin’ fellas.

  39. I am lucky enough to be attending university in the home town of THE FEDS. They instantly became a favorite after I saw them open for another deserving Dallas band, THE VANISHED. What they bring to the stage is like no other. Their music is so alive and powerful. Every time I leave a show I wonder how come the whole Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex is not in love with THE FEDS. They will reach it one day very soon because they are amazing musicians who know how to rock and put on a kick ass show! They are very appreciative and grateful for the supportive, dedicated following they have created all over TEXAS!!

  42. This band is like nothing I’ve ever heard before. Matt has an incredible voice, and when you put it with the Fed’s lyrics and music, you’ve got a powerhouse of sound that no one can ignore. And added to that, they’re some of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. They don’t take what they’ve been given for granted. I cannot wait to see them live this Saturday. They never dissapoint at live shows. I really love this band.

  46. The Feds are a great band. I’ve seen them live and they’ve just got that X-factor that a lot of people look for in an act. Matt Slider has a great voice and he knows how to utilize it, which just makes the music sound so much greater. This group has more energy than a lot of signed pros that I’ve seen. They’re well worth the money paid to see them, and they’re well worth the fandom they have. In fact, I’m really surprised they’re not on a major label touring the world with a string of #1’s! I urge everyone that likes ROCK music to check them out and help take them to the top, where they really belong.

    Comment by Sam — March 21, 2006 @ 6:05 pm

  47. Every show these guys put on is full of energy and passion. Not only do they put on a powerful and impressive show, they are some of the most generous and grateful guys I’ve met. These guys know how to rock!

  48. The first time I saw the FEDS was in Denton, TX on the rooftop of Cool Beans and although the roof didn’t hold a huge crowd of people, I was absolutely impressed with the energy this band brings to the stage. All I could think to myself was, “Tonight, this roof is cavin’ in baby!!” Later, I saw them downtown in Dallas and again, the energy the band had was extreme to say the least. So, my point is, whether the FEDS play at a major venue or a hole in the wall college joint, I will guarantee you, the FEDS will rock your f*cking socks off and leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling inside :~)

  50. The Feds are an amazing band, whos live stage presence is quite amazing. How many bands can make a room of several hundred people go from rock frenzy mode to sitting down campfire style (seriously, at a december show in Lubbock TX!) and then to insane afterwords! Great musicianship, catchy songs, good performance… I dont see how they havent already had serious break out success. I have already seen enough to know that they outperform MOST of the large national rock acts that I have seen in the last several years (live) on a regular basis. If you dont check out a show, you are missing a golden opportunity to see a HUGE act in the making!

  52. With the standing of current music today, it is who is the whiniest, who has the most angst, who will sell to the hot topic high school crowd. The Feds do NOT fit this bill. They are not your black eyeliner high school garage band. They are superior to these bands in every category.

First, they are not the current “sound. You can tell them apart from every band out there; they do not blend. They are original and do not conform to whatever is hot at the moment. Their progression is as a band and musicianship, not as a style.

The Feds bring back the true sound of Rock; not 3-chord punk, synthesized new metal, or heroin lyric-ed alternative. Dissected, their rhythm section (Bryan Sedey on bass and Ben Jeffries on drums) is in and of itself amazing; it gets in your chest and alters your heart beat to the right speed. Then you have two guitarists, Jason Jones and Matthew Wright, but it is not your typical lead and rhythm though they fit that as well. They have individual purpose, which does not tear the sound but makes it stronger, especially when playing as a perfect unit. Finally, you have the vocal of Matt Slider, who is everything a vocalist should be: talented, versatile, and intoxicating. He not only handles the music with ease and excellence he can bewitch an entire crowd. Just watching the show you can feel the marrow in your bones wants to stand up and scream FUCK YEAH!

They never over-produce, nor lose the show to CD sound, or more accurately CD to show sound. They are The Feds no matter what medium - live, CD, video, front row, or drivers seat - they take you and leave you wanting more. They are fantastic and the rebirth of rock which has been gone for far too long.

  53. There’s no such thing as too much rock but if there was, we’d all O.D. on The Feds. They have perfected the rock show. They’re in it for the fans, and you can totally feel it just by being near them. You can’t buy that kind of energy and emotion with a fancy contract and a shiny suit.

  54. I’ve seen the Feds play at least 10 times, and I am more impressed every time. I am absolutely blown away by the rich talent these guys possess. Each time I go to see them perform, I take my friends, and they become fans instantly. The Feds have the most captivating stage presence, full of energy, raw emotion, and sex appeal, always leaving the audience begging for more. It’s also refreshing to find a band that genuinely cares about meeting their fans after the show. The Feds are, quite deservingly, on their way to the top.

  56. Two words i can say…Amazing Musicians. It is amazing what these boys can do.Wiether its singing with massive vocals, playing mean drums, playing the bass with as much passion as a kid with sugar, or playing the guitars that would make the heavens stop playing and listen, these boys are amazing. Even if you have never heard them before, you will fall head over heels for there music and personalities. Most bands are awesome, but The Feds have a certain presents that as soon as they start playing, the hole venue they are in just goes crazy. they have an energy i have not seen…EVER!!!! when they blow up, everyone better be ready. They are also the collest guys to be around. when most bands are this big, they tend not to rememeber anyone they meet. These guys might not rememeber your name, but they will your face. They are just an all around awesome band!!!!

    Comment by Jessica — March 21, 2006 @ 11:57 pm

  57. Being at a Feds’ show makes you glad to be alive! I’ve never seen the same show twice, but I leave each one feeling the same way (even if they only played one song): rocked to the core. Jason is a strong lead guitarist and is always solid. Matthew Wright defies quiet rhythm guitarist and can always draw the attention of the crowd when he wants to. For a band like the Feds it takes a master artist to control the pace of the show, and Ben is an asset as a drummer. Bryan is impressive and amazingly talented as a bassist. He too normally stays to the back, but knows how to command attention when he wants it. Matt Slider is the perfect iconoclast lead singer: he has range, he has presence, he has style. Matt makes you want to rock, makes you want to sing, makes you love The Feds.

  58. These guys take charge of their audience and bring the most powerful rock show I have ever seen on stage. If you haven’t been to their show, you need to go.

    Comment by Clint W — March 22, 2006 @ 8:59 am

  59. To simply say that the feds rock would be a gross understatement. They take their audience on an unforgettable ride from the second they walk on stage. These guys own every room they enter.
The Feds contimue to set the standard for what “local” bands can and could be. It’s easy to see that a lot of bands look up to The Feds and strive to attain a presence on stage that is as strong as what these guys bring. And who wouldn’t?
Just one show will remind you of what rock and roll used to be before the radio got a hold of it. Not only is the band energetic and entertaining, the music is original and exciting. Once you experience a feds show, you’ll wonder how you’ve ever rocked before it.
They are a bright spot in music in general. But the best part? They aren’t just awesome musicians, they’re good people. One conversation with any one of them will leave you smiling the entire way home.

  69. Recently got turned onto the Feds and have to say they are the Best band I have ever seen to come out of Dallas…They are definitley a National Act that just calls Dallas home…their Live shows are just as described…Arena shows regardless of the venue..the energy from all the members is worth any price to see them and their connection and interaction with the crowd is second to none. All bands could learn TONS from watching these guys!

On top of all that..their songs Kick Ass!!!

The FEDS = The Whole Package!!

oh yeah….and imagine that…a modern rock band with Smoking, Kick-Ass Guitar Players!! What a Concept!

  72. I first saw The Feds at Firewater in Dallas and I was hooked after their second song. They not only have a unique sound with each song, but an amazing stage performance. They are not your typical “stand there and rock” band. All of the members put a strong performance with energy you can feel. These guys are definitely a favorite in my book!

    Comment by Robert Torrez — March 23, 2006 @ 7:40 am

  73. Man oh man…

  82. The Feds are one of my favorite dallas rock bands. They are a high energy rock combined with some of Dallas’ most talented and skilled musicians. Every show is amazing…and you never know what to expect…anything from backflips to guitar solos played behind the back…guests appearing from other dallas bands…All in all The FEDS DEFINATELY DO ROCK!!! These guys need to be known in every household across America…Hell the world!!! Go see them if you haven’t…Go see them even if you have already!

    Comment by Sean Curtis — March 23, 2006 @ 8:16 am

  83. The Feds bring forth some of the best live performed shows I’ve ever seen.
This band owns the stage the minute they walk on and the crowd response is phenominal.
I saw them at the Roller Derby and they were amazing. Everyone in the crowd was singing along to the words, this band brings some awsome fans.
They are also probably the nicest band I’ve met so far and they are thankful for their fans, and that brings a lot of respect from me as well as a lot of other people.
The Feds are one of my favorites.

    Comment by Juliette — March 23, 2006 @ 8:19 am

  84. The Feds rock salty ass! They are freakin great, and all super nice to boot. They are going to go far no matter what I put here. Their live show is outstanding! Rock on boys, rock on…

  85. The Feds have single handedly broaded my sense of music appreciation.

They are amazing, and still modest, which is hard to come by. Which also makes them even more amazing, on record and live.

If they never stopped making music, the world will only become a better place.

    Comment by Rachel — March 23, 2006 @ 8:36 am

  86. The Feds are by far one of the most innovative bands around. Matt Slider has one of the most unique voices in the industry; with his amazing range and fast lyrics are simply unmatched by any others. If you’re looking for an amazing show of nonstop rock then you will go see The Feds and you will support this band.
Matt, Bryan, Jason, Matthew, and Ben—good luck with everything that ya’ll do, keep on rockin hard, oh and come back to Abilene!!

    Comment by Chris — March 23, 2006 @ 8:37 am

  87. I’ve known these guys for 8 years and have seen them countless times, I never leave dissapointed an am always just blown away, every show is better than the last, every album better than the one before it. Plus they are genuine people that know how to work hard to get what they want. The Feds have staying power and a dedicated fan base that grows with them as they play more shows outside the Dallas area. They are one of my favorite bands to go see live; even if I have to drive to TX to do it, it is always worth it (I live in MO!) Keep it up guys!

  92. What a great act! One of the most energetic and enthusiastic live performances I have ever seen. You can tell that true heart and soul is poured into the music and nothing is left to be desired (except more).
Like their web address says The FEDS Rock!!

    Comment by Nick Lawless — March 23, 2006 @ 9:20 am

  93. To call the Feds a local band understates the awsome power this group presents on stage. They only keep getting better. If you have never heard them live, you are missign out. This band is still down to earth and close to their fans. They might not remember my name but they always remember my face and thank me for coming out.
    Keep on rocking out!

    Comment by Shawn Phillips — March 23, 2006 @ 9:38 am

  97. I have been hooked on this band ever since my first show a few years ago. These guys consistently deliver music that has substance without alienating the listner. Onstage, The Feds have a commanding presence. There is a chemistry within the band that comes across very clearly to the audience. Matt Slider is one of the most gifted frontmen I have ever seen. When this is paired with some of the best musicians found in Matt, Bryan, Jason and Ben, the result is that these guys just rock. Can’t wait to see another show!

    Comment by Michelle — March 23, 2006 @ 9:38 am

  98. I’ve had the honor of playing a show or two with these guys, and they have, without a doubt, one of the best live shows I have ever seen, signed or unsigned. Matt Slider, despite his diminuitive stature, can make any audience think he’s 12 feet tall. He commands the stage in a way that makes me feel like I wasted all the money I spent to go see major label bands. And lets not forget that their material is strong. They are the future of rock, as far as I, and apparently others, are concerned.

Your label blows without The Feds on it.

  102. Stange things happen when I listen to the Feds… I feel a rush of adrenaline course through my body causing a feeling of euphoria that cases me to have desires to smile, wiggle, giggle, & dance. Their sound is very motivating with a sound without parallel. With their music comes integrity to the ears and a comfortable listening style. Drugs shmugs!! Who needs drugs when you can get sucha great feeling from listening to the Feds??

  103. met the feds in tulsa 4 -5 years ago, they were the band “that the lead singer spits in his hand, then eats it, right?”
    havent stopped listening ever since.

the best live show out there.

some one put these guys on a label, they need to EAT.

    Comment by lyndsay — March 23, 2006 @ 2:04 pm

  104. The Feds are the total package. They are that rare breed of rockers who bring it all to the table, talent, passion, presence, and that indefinable quality that excites the heart and causes that sweet euphoria in the music lover.

    Comment by Christi Urash — March 23, 2006 @ 3:27 pm

  105. The things that irks me about music today, is when the song on the radio can change…and I don’t even know it. Every popular band out there fits neatly into their predisposed category. The big acts even more so, because they’ve grown accustomed to playing what they think the public wants to hear.
What do I love about The Feds? For one, every song has a different feel. The same five guys can stand on the same stage they have been all night, and I’m captivated by every sound. I love that they play REAL music. They aren’t a cutsey little I-IV-V band who can name 6 chords to sum up every song they’ve ever played.
As someone who has studied music on various educational levels, I can say that those guys know what they’re doing. And, I’ve never met a group of guys that were so real and genuine.
We all know they deserve nothing less than the big time, and I wish that for them.

    Comment by Katie — March 23, 2006 @ 9:40 pm

  106. I was introduced to these guys back in 2000 and I still can’t believe they’re not signed. Looks like the industry has finally noticed a real rock band.

    Good luck guys!!!

  107. I’ve listened to a lot of bands but none as passionate about their music. These are 5 very talented individuals who deserve to be recognized. Their energy is contagious. Keep the faith!

  108. I can describe The Feds in one word… AMAZING! and that can’t even begin to really decribe how awesome they truly are. The Feds are the band you go see when you want to experience a real, in-your-face Rock Show. I have seen them countless times, and every time, they never cease to amaze me. Matt Slider is one of the most energetic frontmen I’ve ever seen from ANY band, and he demands your attention from the second he walks on stage. But it’s not just all about the lead singer either - Jason, Matt, Bryan and Ben are all masters of the parts they play, and the way they work together really brings the entire show together. The show is not just about a rock spectacle, though. For the true Feds fans that know their lyrics, anyone will tell you that lyrically, they have a way with words that is purely genius. Personally, one of my favorite songs from The Feds is a newer one called “Alive.” The musical arrangement, voice quality, and use of words in the song is absolutely captivating, and I’m expecting the next album to be a huge success!

    Comment by Lauren — March 24, 2006 @ 6:18 pm

  109. Why aren’t these guys signed yet??? Great songs, great live show, great look…Its bound to happen sooner or later when someone at the record label decides they want to make a lot of money and promote an awsome band. I cant wait!

  110. This band puts on one of the strongest live shows I’ve ever seen, provided that they aren’t drunk. I’ve seen them 20+ times and their biggest problem, besides not being able to write a hit song since “My Texas”, is their inconsistent live show. I’ve seen them kick ass and I’ve seen them really suck.

    Comment by K Dawg — March 25, 2006 @ 11:51 am

  111. In a few short simple words…this band needs to be seen on a national stage….a ticking time bomb waiting to explode

  114. The Feds have never failed to rock my face off. They ARE rock n’ roll. No other band has seen so many spins in my CD player, it’s ridick. Their music is a drug.

  115. Whats up!!! I saw “The Feds” when they visited St. Louis for Warp Tour. Their performance was amazing, the kind of live that gave me, as an audiance member, a real live connection to the show. After their performance, I met with them and they took their time to talk with me and everyone else that came along, and that goes a long way with me knowing they had to still get their things moved. As a bassist, I felt they had a strong and exciting sound that kept me in the concert more because the band is as strong as the vocals.

    Comment by Tony From St.Louis — April 1, 2006 @ 4:20 pm
