At The Disco. They're hands down one of the most popular bands on Altsounds.com and they only have 2 songs up (a non-single and a demo track), getting 1,658,748 plays! I think the single is weak, but once they release The Only Difference..., it may change opinions. I wouldn't credit hype for their sales numbers solely. Yellowcard is one of, if not THE most overhyped band in mainstreanm music, but I don't think their sales numbers have been reflecting the massive amounts of money that has been invested in promotion. You can be boring and still be huge...look at Hawthorne Heights. It's all about putting the name out there, and that kid from Fall Out Boy that signed Panic! is doing a great job. If it weren't for myspace, none of these bands would be anywhere. Internet promotion...who woulda thunk it. I'm not all that surprised to see that Buckcherry debuted in the Top 50. I am, however, surprised to see that they're opening Candlebox's reunion tour this summer. Weird combo...especially since I think Buckcherry will outdraw them. Panic! at the Disco is all hype.
