- XM and Sirius continue to talk about a potential merger.
- According to the LA Times, revenues from digital downloads and mobile content is expected to be flat or, in some cases, decline next year. Rather than pushing the panick button industry some executives are pushing for the right to sell digital downloads as unprotected MP3s. Revenues from digital music has not made up the loss from the declining physical CD sales. Revenue from digital music has yet to offset losses from still-declining CD sales.
cd sales down.an artist downloads up?or downloads down?point is artist suck?and people are catching on to no talent 1 hit wonders and are showing it in the best place of all in the pocket book!.and how is it that gospel music cds and country cds still do well.and who’s cd are you talking about? major label? or inde label.bands that get played to death on radio?or bands that get very little air time.and cd sales are down compared to what?last year sales or projected wishfull thinking.want to know why sales blow…listen to Dean Miller’s Music Executive song.and if any a&r people are reading this your half the problem.
