Garage rock can only go so far. All we are left with is songs, not bands with longevity. Why spend hundreds of thousands of dollars of studio time to try and make an album sound raw but still yielding an overly mainstreamed polished product. So many indies get it right for cheap.

Melissa Auf Der Maur better hope she can be on board that Smashing Pumpkins new tour to pay the utilities. I’m sure shes got some money saved from Hole royalties and studio sessions.

Google has a great staff and engineering community but I can’t help but love it when they get hit every now and then.

good call on canning the vines. rca’d be wish to axe the strokes and any other similary minded bands.

that said, seems safe to assume gems (albeit underselling gems) like van hunt and marjorie fair have or will be axed by capital soon.

How much more overexposed can you get than Paris Hilton? You’d think she’d go gold by default. Just goes to show that there’s no substitute for true talent. Too bad 90% of it has yet to be discovered.
