While I understand the reason people would want to work at major labels that article makes it sound like there are no other avenues for music business jobs.

It totally makes sense why people are connecting with Kate Walsh. Its real, raw, moving and catchy.

Loved the first track. Sounded like she was in the room with me singing. (I have studio monitors)

Koar If you dont get why this is taking off I question your judgement especially when getting excited about homogenized bands like Bixler.

Hmm...Good for her.

I'd say now you definitely gotta watch out for a girl like Colbie Caillat from LA.
Girls (all ages) seem to be absolutely crazy for her once they hear her stuff, could draw fans of Norah Jones to Gwen Stefani.

iTunes thing surprising? To me, not really... I believe people are tired of hearing over-produced music. They want to hear something a little more live, full of life, maybe some recording quirks here and there, etc.... Contrary to what people often hear on albums, music is not a perfect thing. That's what makes seeing a band live interesting. But I also believe that this lo-fi pop junk music has got to stop. There's a difference between quality music/songs and the quality of a recording, regardless of songs. Alanis Morrisette is a perfect example... If I'm not mistaken, "Jagged Little Pill" was recorded on a 16-track ADAT setup (by today's standards, outdated)... no Pro-Tools there, and the record sold millions. You can hear nuances in the recording, and that's what makes it great. It's real.
(rant, over.. ;) )

Eighteen Visions came out looking like Papa Roach and Lost Prophets. They use to play shows with Sworn Enemy and other hardcore bands. This made no sense to me. The new record was a weak too. Very Polished with NO SONGS. Need Great songs to survive this musical landscape.

In other news...
Eighteen Visions has broken up after recording several albums over the years and their first for major label Epic.

Ran out of ideas and sales numbers?
That band use to bring the mosh.
