Up and coming artist news:

Chicago based Frisbie return with New Debut on indie Appendix Records. Check out the title track and Lather

Hotspur continue to land placement with virtually their entire album Beta following their series of Warped Tour dates. Their song Skydive was prominently featured in the season premiere of MTV’s The Hills and continues to pop up on MTV and affiliate programming.

The October has just completed their video for Runaway, the first single off their Lost Since Graduation EP. Check out the video here. The band is also Snocap’s featured artist via MySpace offering a free download of the title track from the album.

Upside, who have made numerous appearances on KOAR, have decided to call it quits and start the next chapter. They are currently playing a series of farewell dates to sold out crowds throughout the south and Midwest. After 7 years and thousands of live shows, this is a band that will be missed. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for these talented musicians.

  1. Too bad about Upside. Great guys. Great live. I think what would have helped them are co-writes. Couple of big fat radio hits could’ve taken them over the fence.

  3. Ya know, a part of me is really sad about Upside since I’ve been friends with the guys from the early days and always thought they were right on the brink of blowing up. However another part of me is really excited to see what they do next. They’re all SO GOOD at what they do, the sky is really the limit for them.

Upside was great and I think a fair argument could be made for some of their tracks being those ‘hits’ that people wanted. Maybe not to the industry, but you see these kids singing along at the shows and hear their songs blend seamlessly into regional radio playlists and it’s clear there was SOMETHING going on.

Sometimes it just isn’t in the cards. They did what they were supposed to do and they never once got defeated despite the massive amounts of bullshit they were put through trying to enter the mainstream. Their latest album is the record they always wanted to make and I think they’re going out on a high note. They have a lot of very dedicated fans who will no doubt follow them wherever they go.

They have a lot to be proud of. Upside was just the first chapter for these guys. They’re ready for the next. I promise you, this is not the last we will see of them.

  5. I’ve never actually watched The Hills, and even after seeing this clip to verify the placement, I’m still not totally sure what it’s about…but the song is definitely there.

if you can stomach it, here’s the link- MTV The Hills

This isn’t the first time for Hotspur. Their songs are regulars on MTV programming, both on web versions and TV versions. Listen to Beta and you’ll understand why.
