Blaqk Audio - From Hardcore to Techno….
Posted September 26, 2007 — in Music News
KOAR attended the Blaqk Audio show at Hammerstein Ballroom show in NYC. Watch this short clip of a Blaqk Audio live performance in Montreal - this amateur vid caught the intensity.
How many frontmen can go from hardcore to a rock infused techno band?
Not Many, not many at all - i have to check them out live!

I saw them at Hammerstien in NYC as well. The show was sold out. It was probably the best show I saw this year. The album can’t justify the live show.

Yep, I heard Stiff kitten on satellite too. Thought it was Depeche Mode too. Great song though.

Snuff on Digital is the best track on the record. Also love Bitter Sweet. Its a great record to rave to as well. I just picked up my glow sticks.

Davey Havok with highlights…..anyone else see the inherently un-hardcore issue here?
and all the depeche mode comments above, you guys are dead on. i fully agree.

Anyone who really knows AFI knows a) AFI is not hardcore, it’s pop that sometimes gets very aggressive and b) they have always had this electronic influence in their music. It’s a really natural progression for them, in my opinion.

Anyone who “rave” on Blaqk Audio needs to get out more often.
I love AFI but Blaqk Audio isn’t really my thing. Too soft for me.

For a genre of music I usually can’t stand, this was pretty good. It has crossover appeal.

Yeah. I have to disagree. AFI was NEVER hardcore. Just had to say that. BUT. Did this not look (visually speaking) incredibly awkward to anyone esle. I thought he looked so tense that if he wasn’t “that guy from AFI” that if he were just anyone else, I’d leave the club.

old afi always sounded somewhat hardcore/punk to me, but not the new crap they have released.
