Indie act from Indianapolis Margot & the Nuclear So and So’s have signed to Epic. We are also hearing reports that Immortal Records may have folded.
That Margo & the Nuclear So & Sos record is fantastic. Skeleton Key is one of the best songs of last year. Those syncopated claps are brilliant. And the flow of the song… having the first verse in half-time makes the second verse feel so good.
My roommate had Skeleton Key as his ringtone for nearly half of last year.

“Quiet as a Mouse” is one hell of a song too.
& I hope Immortal hasn’t folded…Love some of their acts.

If Immortal Records stuck to their rock format like the days of KoRn, No One, Sw1tched, Incubus, etc.. they wouldn’t have to fold. Happy Walter?
Thats what happens when you force trends.

Immortal Records did pussy out. They only released piss-poor emo/screamo crap and wuss-alternative.
They also had poor marketing presence.
I do miss Sw1tched….=) After the last few years in the music business - who can badmouth Nu Metal now?

Its not even the idea of “nu-metal” just rock n roll man..

A Change of Pace was just dropped by Immortal, probably a sign.

People in the music business sometimes mistake what sells for what’s good. I can badmouth nu-metal until the next blue moon.
Nu-metal isn’t rock n roll. Nu-metal is a calculated corporate imitation of rock & roll.
Lowest common denominator rock. I’ve never heard a great nu-metal song.
I certainly won’t be crying myself to sleep over Immortal’s passing.

Jon:
Nu-metal sold .. emo didn’t

It still does I really should be saying “nu-metal” hence people that label music have no idea.

That’s because nu-metal fans can’t figure out bit torrent.

A Change Of Pace has been trying to get out of their deal forever. They weren’t dropped. The majors have wanted them for a year but Immortal wouldn’t let go.
Immortal owes me over $3,000 for doing 8 weeks of Warped Tour for them. Happy and Dominica never returned my emails/calls until Kevin Lyman and Warped Tour got involved.
Then, they denied that I worked out a payment plan. What?? That was my third Warped in a row and you think I would just start 8 weeks of rock n’ roll bootcamp without payment??? Yeah, right.
Happy and Dominica are worthless and I hope they love the financial bind they put me in for a few months, while they ride in their BMWs.
I hope no one decides to work with them again. Stealing everyone’s money. How can you have all those gold/platinum albums/soundtracks and fold?? Someone has some big pockets.
Can’t even pay me?? Worthless human beings.
