Definitely hear Hinder and Daughtry in their stuff…Brian Howes’s influence I guess? You can almost sing the chorus to Daughtry’s “It’s Not Over” right on top of the chorus of “Last Stand.” Not really digging the lyrics too much…kinda cliched along the lines of Hinder, buts that just my taste…kinda reminds me of something I’d write, which is why I leave the lyric writing to others!!

The songs sound good though and they have catchy melodies. If they get any kind of radio push, they’ll probably do great given the success of Daughtry and Hinder. This just seems to be what people are looking for right now. Brian Howes is on fire seems like everything he touches does well, so that can’t hurt them either. That Skillet record he did is great, Hinder, some of Daughtry’s stuff…must be nice to be B. Howes right now!

And I think Jen may have had the only statement in all of this that really matters…the chicks dig these guys!! That seems to have a direct correlation to commercial success so they’re on their way!!

Thanks for the kind words, Cris. Another couple of notes from my deep chasm of insight… the start of “To All You” is an Avril Lavigne song & the pre-chorus is straight from Nickelback’s paperback novel song.

But even if the songs are largely inauthentic & pieced together from yesterday’s top 40 chart, I feel like Hate Love would, in the case that it’s lucky enough to be drilled into our ears like the paperback novel song, have a longer life if they held back on that first chorus. I feel like they’ve giving it up on the first date.

But hey… I could be totally wrong.

Everyone listen to Jon Cole!! He can tell you how to re write your songs so that no one will want to hear them!
This band should have bipassed Brian Howes and went to JON! HE IS THE EXPERT AT MUSIC NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR.
