Warner Music Group: Where are the stockholders?
Posted March 19, 2008 — in Music News
Fox 411 columnist Roger Friedman discusses Warner Music Group CEO Edgar Bronfman and Lyor Cohen’s contract extension. Check out the comprehensive package.
The legal department was too busy figuring out new ways to remuneratively reward Edgar Bronfman and Lyor Cohen for destroying the company. The stock closed on Tuesday at $5.21 after rebounding from $5.02 earlier. There are no WMG albums in the top 20 this week. One wonders, are there stockholders? Where are they? How can this just go on and on? …
this is incredible news - im shocked that they cant find other HEADS rather those who rape and pillage a company!

I don’t know about Bronfman, but Lyor is a passionate record man. He started out tour managing bands. At least he loves the music.

It’s amazing how these labels continue to lay off employees with this markets downturn and there are artists on the label practically starving while these exec’s is making a killing.
Want to cut back on some money being spent.. don’t cut 100 people that make 36k a year.. how about cutting back on the people pulling in over a million a year…
…for nothing…

There is no way to save this industry except fire everyone and start over! Every industry “big wig” that thinks he can’t be replaced prob should have been replaced years ago. The company won’t fire these people but the buyers who purchase the records have already fired them. People are tired of being force fed crap while being told its honey. Great music is too easy to get these days and it is everywhere… just not on the shelves of the stores… lol at least not on the shelves with a warner label on it:)

I don’t think my 300 shares really gets me that far to make much of a difference of who’s in charge.
