Adam Lambert’s For Your Entertainment..

adam

Is it me or does anyone else have a problem with this mix? After listening to this a dozen times, it doesn’t sound right. As far as the AMA performance, it was ok. If  Lambert wanted to generate post chatter, he accomplished it. I just hope he acknowledges the fact that all of his idols like Freddie Mercury didn’t need to cause controversy. They just wrote great songs and delivered a stellar performance.  In fact, Good Morning America canceled his performance tomorrow after ABC received 1,500 complaining phone calls. Freddie Mercury was never banned from performing, in fact, people loved him…

Adams tone deaf and can’t carry a tune worth a dime.

  2. liz says:

I was shocked by the appallingly bad singing. His performance was a typical shock and awe, let’s draw all attention to ME ME ME ME!!! We live in an ENTITLEMENT society.

  3. paramore says:

His album isn’t bad, some decent songs, but waaaaaaaay over-produced. Completely the opposite of Freddie!

  4. davey says:

His performance was great and who says you need a great voice these days? Just let Adam be Adam. If you want to listen to some talent, pick up Susan Boyles CD!!!

  5. critic says:

I was disappointed that Lambert sacrificed vocal excellence for shock and awe. His vocals were all over the place. I thought the tune stunk. Lambert was more concerned with generating controversy than giving us a good-sounding preview of his new music.

    NY Post!!!!!!!!

I see a lot of Lambert defenders being real pricks to those who didn’t like the performance for one reason or another. What’s up with that? Guess what, folks… not everyone is going to like everything. No need to call people vile names because they like the color blue instead of your favorite purple.

Of course Lambert’s album will open high. The key measures will be how his album is doing in a few weeks. That will be the true reflection of the public’s appetite. Hype always opens well, but staying power is the test of strength.

One thing that is irking me is Lambert’s whining about discrimination, double standards, etc.. It’s similar to the attacks by Lambert supporters on those who may not have liked the performance. He wants to blame his poor performance and (to some) insulting movements on others, when it is he who in complete control of his product. He’s no dummy… he knew some people wouldn’t appreciate it. But instead of saying that he understands his product won’t please everyone, he chooses to call those dissenters names. That’s weak. Man up, Adam. If you want tolerance from others, you have to be tolerant of others.

Flame on, folks. Happy Thanksgiving to you all as well.

The album is just ok for me. I think he has alot more talent than is demonstrated on the CD. I also think what he did at the AMA was just really lame and unnecessary.

  8. A. Marachese says:

First of all, what happened at the AMA’s should hold no merit at all. This is an excellent album period. I love all the songs on it. People have the right not like everything he does; however, Adam has talent. If you’re not going to buy the album because of one performance or the album cover, you were never a true fan to begin with.

    the examiner –

Adam Lambert is good, but his closing performance on last night’s American Music Awards made it pointedly clear why Kris Allen was the winner of last season’s American Idol.

You see, Adam Lambert is already a product of his own hype, and has already encountered the first roadblock en route to parlaying American Idol into real world success. And it’s a big roadblock.

He is no longer the big fish in a small Idol pond, he is a small fish in an ocean of world-class talent and top-flight vocalists. The Black Eyed Peas don’t make excuses, they just deliver. Without fail.

Adam Lambert is not and never will be Freddy Mercury…. Lambert is a joke…

  11. RG says:

Great talking points KOAR! Couldn’t agree more. I think the big thing everyone keeps overlooking is the controversy surrounding the pour contrived performance was just that.. pre thought & contrived. You just can’t “shock” with pre-meditation, it just appears as phony as his album cover. Maybe it’s just me but I distinctly remember “Shock” at the AMA awards almost 20 years ago.. When Guns N Roses won numerous awards & Axl didn’t even show up #1.. and Slash and Duff were SO drunk and swearing into the podium mic (cig in mouth, glass in hand). That is Rock & Roll.. and it was real.. it was GNR’s typical “We Don’t give a F” attitude.. nothing pre meditated.. And to this day I think.. how cool was that.. I highly doubt anyone will be saying the same thing about Adam’s performance 20 years from now…. just my 2 cents

  12. MP says:

As an avid American Idol viewer, I feel as though Adam Lambert is one of the better performers to come out of that show. I do like how he is rebelling against the norm of what AI contestants act, however it seems as if he is doing things for the sake of shock value. That performance did shock us and Adam is loving every bit of it. Let’s be real. At the end of the day it’s all about money and fame and Adam is enjoying the ride.

As far as his album goes, yes I did feel like it was a little off. I expected more especially because “For Your Entertainment” is such a catchy tune. Maybe its one of those albums that have to grow on you, who knows. But overall, disappointment.
