Keep your eyes open for Pompeya and their dancey new single “Cold.” Everything but, the track explodes with color in a hyper-present and tasteful approach to the group’s classic 80s revival sound. With their classic “90” seeing an eternal life on Tik Tok and Instagram reels, the band’s extended past has set up the perfect runway for their next cycle which begins here.

The band, which is revered in its native Russia, but also abroad, has previously been based as far away from home as Los Angeles. Having toured extensively, from North America to Europe to the Caucasus, the band will warm up this fall with a slew of gigs that includes Belgrade, Dubai, and Beijing, before really getting after it with more new music in 2024.

“Cold” itself is an ode to location, in what lead singer Daniil Brod calls a “peculiar” form of “sad travel.”

“’Cold’ is about a long distance relationship that has been constantly questioned due to uncertainties,” says Brod, before adding, “However, personally to me, this song seems to hold a bigger picture of what it feels like recently when a lot of people have to move away from their homes due to different circumstances… I think this storyline will run through most of the songs in our next album – a peculiar way of a sad travel.”

We just added Normal Now by Limón Limón to the Kings Indie Invader Playlist. I’ve never heard of the act but I like the track. After I quick search I found out the duo is based in Los Angeles and have picked up tastemaker support with the release of their ‘west coast-good vibe’ electro tracks. The also landed on Spotify’s Indie Fresh Finds. That’s what I like, an artist spreading good vibes. I like to see vibes next to spreading rather than virus, because that all we hear today. Give it a stream.

The track is inspired from a quote by Elizabeth Lesse about resistance to change. She has garnered support from Earmilk, Lady Gunn, and Pop Muzik. Her debut single-debut Water, has over 31K plays on Soundcloud. Give it a stream.

Los Angeles based Valentina releases the catchy electro pop track P.D.A. The up and coming songstress grew up listening to Nina Simone, Amy Winehouse and Adele. After learning how to produce in 2018, she found a really cool sound. Other tracks worth listening too are Break My Heart, 10 Feet Tall, and Child. With her latest track, Valentina notes, “This song is the best way for me to describe the euphoric feeling of falling for someone that you’ve known for a very long time.” Give it a stream!

Kings favorite Em Rossi releases a new single “No Longer The Same” with the Smule app that has 60 million users world wide. The single was also featured on Bay Area ABC7 news. The 20 year old singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles has been rolling out beautifully sad songs that has garnered millions of YouTube streams. Much of her inspiration comes from losing a parent at an early age. Em notes, “Everyone deals with death in different ways. I’ve watched family, friends, and myself go through it and it’s safe to say I’ve seen it all. It’s definitely a harsh reality check. It’s honestly indescribable. Only those who have gone through the same thing could even begin to understand the shock and sadness”. It’s rare when an artist truly expresses their emotions through music. Demi Lovato did it with ‘Sober’ and Em does it with her latest track No Longer The Same. Like any true artist, Em isn’t looking for fame. “Music became my core and no matter what happens or where it takes me, I am proud to say that I nor my family chose to close the doors and hide from the world” says Em. Give it a stream.
